Rough and unfinished but...
Casual Impressionism: I found there is nothing more challenging or interesting than the faces of those around me. My drawings are made on the spot, quickly and spontaneously - my subjects are unposed and initially unaware that I am committing my impression of them to newsprint. If my sketch has made it home to your fridge-thank you! Contact knightonart@gmail.com

Woollen winter hat 11/14
It has been a while since I have posted after constant rounds of colds and illness so I will confess to some mild rust with the sharpie. It was nice to produce this minimal sketch in mottled light using the background to support this casual impression///presented nervously to the patron w minimal explanation

The Writer?
The Writer
thoughtfully engaged away from reality, I made this simple honest sketch
of a presumed ''writer" at The Common Cafe
on College. I choose the art section of Now and gave it to her

SMASH 2880 Dundas West
SMASH, 2880 Dundas Street West
There I was with a back pack milling around in the store. WORTH A VISIT,see below!
I spied an empty seat on the other side of the road. I thought someone SHould sit in it. It looked quite comfortable. Perhaps do a study with a paint brush. I happened to have the ingredients in that damn 50lb back pack of mine and i had time on my hands.
It was a blustry day so blobs of water colour blew and reacted in unpredictable ways on the paper.
That didn't stop me! Nor did a film crew that were apparently engaged in a commercial shoot.
Less than 2 hrs later with paint on my face IT was done. I didn't notice a burnt sienna scar like stroke on my face until I got home. I was horrified.

The Farmhouse tavern
The Farmhouse Tavern, 1627 Dupont St.

I parked myself across the street... Before the Evening crowd arrived at 4.15
A quick sketch followed by splashes of colour encouraged a few curious onlookers to peak. Including Alex , the Chef...no pressure of course
I finished just after 6...painting is thirsty work
excellent food …Sunday late for deals in this otherwise justifiable expensive restaurant

Stephen G., Artist & Writer
A moment in Tango. Clearly relaxed and not offended but my attempt to put my Sharpie to work Stephen reclined in the best seat in the house, bare feet comfortably on the floor. Thank you for yr response and I would be delighted if u have a website to post Link.
Stephen has interesting story to tell
here are just a few from this Toronto writers website
Bio
I live in Maine with my wife, Tabitha…. Oh, wait…. That’s not me.
I live in Toronto. No wife. Definitely no wife. No husband either. I grew up on the prairies, under skies that went on forever.
My companions growing up were Edgar Rice Burroughs, Arthur C. Clarke and Robert Heinlein. Captain Kirk, Jaime Summers, Professor X, and Wonder Woman.
One of my earliest memories is being taken to the library by my parents, and that little card, typed in red like all the children’s card was a treasure beyond price. From the beginning, I loved stories and that has stayed with my my whole life. Books from the library. Saturday afternoon matinees at the theatre. The comics I used my allowance for. The ones I made up in my bedroom. The stories were everything.
And now, after a lot of practice, I get to tell stories of my own.

Chasing Cold
On the tiny, frozen world of Frostbite, Rogan Tyso is the Mailmail, responsible for the communications array that keeps his home in contact with the other human Refuges scattered across known space. It has been a century since the Cluster--the great union of Earth-like colonies--fell to an alien race known only as the Flense, and human civilization has been reduced to an a...more
