Romeo Dallaire

A challenge that might be like walking on a minefield...I did not have a chance to draw Tanner Rasmussen...I wondered if u could pull off a tasteful sketch if Canadian Hero  Romeo Dallaire was in the room with him...Actually Tanner probably can. I harboured the hope that he would drag this sketch home a afix it to his empty fridge.

Drop me a line pl.

Carl Bergstrom

I caught the roughest semblance of Carl Bergstrom comedically jousting with Tanner Rassmussen

i drew him atop the city hall clown's Rob and Doug (hey that's funny)

Drinking coffee with an artful cap at Jazz Cafe...we engaged in a brief conversation. I learnt his love of food had taken him to George Brown... I see a street food and it's gonna be good.

Man in a Blue Scarf, by Lucien Freud

Inspired to Sketch at the National Portrait Gallery

Drawn at the best Lucien Freud Exhibition

Meet one of Lucien Freud's well known paintings, Man in a Blue Scarf, inspired to sketch onto the OFFICIAL program notes. Page 38 discusses this masterpiece at this retrospective 2011 show, Lucien Freud Portraits at the National Portrait Gallery in London.

Freud single handedly reinvigorated the art of portraiture, Didn't HE?

SAVED from it's dry bankers walls and dowdy dark institutional atriums and hallways

to express the raging man and women within.

Lanny Shereck, Painter

A portrait of Lanny Shereck, painter, the darker brooding side
by David Knighton, oil

I took one thing to heart from Lanny, a accomplished painter and instructor...U can learn how to paint in a day but it takes 30 years to know how to draw...a few thousand portraits on… , I have been able to claw, beg,  and steal a just small incremental gain  so I am inclined to agree.

But my painting has improved.

his Lordship

quick sketch

His Lordship has reached the tender age of 50. A character and a half. He has a presence perhaps inspired by his illustrious father, John Neville  (starring role in Terry Gilliam's The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1988). His Lordship has a booming radio announcers voice and is seldom not the centre of attention. Happy Birthday.

The sharpie has aged this youthful 20 something Spanish speaking researcher. He spoke to the listener in a suave and playfully confident English at the Red Tavern on Spadina. A researcher in communication. Please email knightonart@gmail.com with your thoughts.
